West University Place has extended the deadline until Sept. 8 for residents to apply to serve a two-year term on one of the city’s boards and commissions — with a total of 62 positions open.
They range from hands-on boards advising City Council on matters of parks and recreation, recycling and solid waste, and senior services, to two panels reviewing zoning matters, and one quasi-judicial body that weighs cases involving building standards.
The boards/commissions and openings on each are Building & Standards (9), Parks & Recreation (11), Recycling & Solid Waste Reduction (11), Senior Services (15), Zoning & Planning Commission (7), and Zoning Board of Adjustment (9).
Those interested can find out more and apply online here. Interviews will be scheduled following the deadline, and those selected will begin their two-year term on Nov. 1.
