October 6, 2009 by Bellaire Essentials Staff Leave a Comment

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is offering two workshops this Saturday that are meant to introduce participants to the animals and plants found in our area.

Online registration deadlines are Wednesday for the two classes. Nature 101: Mammals will teach attendees about species in the Houston area. Nature 101: Wetland Ecology will talk about the role of wetlands, and explore plants and animals found in the habitat.

Teachers who attend can earn two hours of SBEC credit, and Texas Master Naturalists earn credit for advanced training. Cost is $25 per class, and $10 for active Arboretum volunteers.

For more information, call 713-681-8433 or visit houstonarboretum.org/nature101.asp.
