West U armed robbery victim distracted by phone call?

November 12, 2015 by Charlotte Aguilar Leave a Comment

There are no new leads being reported but additional details have been released in the armed robbery of a West U woman Tuesday night in the garage of her home in the 6300 block of Westchester Avenue.
ABC-13 reporter Miya Shay learned that the woman was on her phone as she exited her car shortly before 11 p.m. and was approached by the man brandishing a small pistol. He got away with what he apparently thought was her purse, but was instead her phone case. Police found it discarded later and are testing for fingerprints.
The gunman is described as a slender black man in his early 20s. He jumped into the passenger side of a waiting older vehicle, which sped off, south on Westchester.
