The event will be held on Oct. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Houston Wine Merchant, 2646 S Shepherd Dr.
Participants will be able to purchase wine at a 15 percent savings or as auction donations at a 20 percent price reduction. The Houston Wine Merchant has extended discounts on purchases throughout the week to accommodate West U Elementary parents who are unable to attend the Oct. 4 event.
The PTO is also collecting wine donations valued at $25 and up. The labels will be covered, and partygoers at the Nov.6 auction at Minute Maid Park can “pull” a bottle of wine for $30 per bottle.
The Nov. 6 event will feature a live auction, big board and silent auction, dinner and dancing.
The “Rock the Night Away” auction is being spearheaded by co-chairs Linette Courtney, Tara Wuthrich, Julie Jackson and Sherry Sinor.
Proceeds from the event will help fund a range of curriculum enrichment programs during the school’s 2010-11 academic year.
