West U. Little League tryouts were held recently, and managers are in the process of drafting teams for the 2009 season. Opening Day and Carnival are set for March 7. The theme this year is GO Green. An 11-year-old Little League ballplayer, Luke Morille, is set to sing the National Anthem. Grand sponsors are Greenwood King and Gexa again this year. Field Czars John Heck and Zach Granberry and their teams are working to prepare the fields for play, and President Gregg Thompson says he is ready for an excellent 2009 season.
