West U offering dropoff for some tough-to-recycle household items today

West University residents can deposit everything from e-waste to mattresses at the city’s semi-annual recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon today (Saturday, May 7) at 3826 Milton St.

Participants should approach Milton by entering College Street from University Boulevard.

Residents may recycle:

  • Paper (limited to 5 banker boxes per household)
  • Mattresses
  • E-Waste, which includes computers, laptops, printers, DVD players and game consoles
  • Household metals such as cookware, faucets, metal furniture, sinks, etc.

Hazardous household waste such as chemicals, paint, and batteries are not accepted.

The next event is scheduled for the first Saturday in November.
