West U Police Arrest Two Men For Stealing Plywood From Construction Site

West U police arrested two men for attempting to steal plywood from a construction site on Oct. 4.
West U police arrested two men on Oct. 4 for attempting to steal plywood from a construction site.
An officer noticed two Hispanic males loading plywood into a pickup truck that was backed into a construction site around 6 p.m. in the 3600 block of Rice.
While the officer was talking to the two men, the owner of the property drove by and stopped to see what was going on, police said.
The owner contacted the subcontractor to see if anyone was supposed to be working at the property and was told no.
Leonel Gomen, 37, was arrested for theft.
Jose Gallegos, a 28-year-old Houston resident, was arrested for theft.
Gallegos also had three outstanding warrants from La Marque, Texas for no driver’s license, no insurance and failure to appear.
Gomen and Gallegos were transferred to Harris County Jail.
