West U police are investigating a sexual assault of a child case involving a family member.
The victim, a 17-year-old Houston resident, was allegedly sexually assaulted by her grandfather, a 59-year-old West U resident.
The assault reportedly occurred when the victim was 6 years old until she was 9 years old, police said.
West U police plan on filing formal charges once the investigation is complete.
