West U says new bill payment system needs more testing

September 11, 2019 by Charlotte Aguilar

The city of West University has had to delay implementation of a new online utility billing system until additional testing can be done. That means, with bills due on Sept. 18, that those signed up on the current system will use it for at least one more month.

Here’s the statement from the city:

“The city of West University Place has partnered with Point&Pay to offer a new, enhanced, customer friendly online payment portal.  The City staff has been working with Point&Pay to get the new portal on the City’s website.  Testing has taken longer than expected, so we will not be able to roll out the new payment portal before bills become due on September 18, 2019.  As a result all recurring checks and credit/debit cards that are already set up in the current system will be processed as normal.

“We apologize for the inconvenience.  We hope to get the new portal on line as soon as possible but it will not be done before the 18th.”

For more information from the city’s utility billing personnel, call 713-662-5824 or email billinghelp@westutx.gov
