West University Place will hold its 35th annual Christmas Tree Lighting festivities this evening (Dec. 4) from 5:30-7 in Friends Park, 6104 Auden St.
Winners in the three age divisions of the city’s yearly holiday coloring contest for youngsters will be announced and will join Mayor Susan Sample to flip the switch to light the robust community tree, which overlooks a high visibility intersection.
The holiday celebration will also include music and dance performances, games, selfie stations, face painting, ice sculpting, cookie decorating, vendors — and the obligatory visit from Santa Claus.
