West U residents will be able to dispose of trash at the city’s Heavy Trash Day on Saturday.
Trash can be dropped off between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Public Works facility, 3826 Milton.
Staff will be available to unload vehicles and residents will have to provide proof of residency when dropping off trash.
The city is asking residents to approach the event from the intersection of University and College Street.
Accepted items include:
• Construction debris – fencing, bricks, concrete, junk iron, lumbers, etc.
• General household garbage
• Any miscellaneous trash
• Electronic Waste (E-Waste) - computers, UPS, printers, cell phones, laser and ink jet cartridges will be collected
• Goodwill Donations – Goodwill will be on site to accept usable items, except for beds or bedding of any kind
Items that are not accepted include:
• Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) – no HHW of any type, including but not limited to, automotive products, oil based stains, varnishes, and paints, pesticides, fertilizers, tires, fuel, household cleaning products, thermometers, pharmaceuticals, etc.
• Freon – any item having Freon (fridges, AC, etc.) must be accompanied by a Certificate indicating the Freon has been removed from the unit.
