West U to host recycling dropoff — everything from paper to the kitchen sink

West University will host one of its semi-annual recycling dropoffs for residents from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday (Nov. 4), accepting a variety of large and small hard-to-recycle items.

The event will be held at the Public Works Administration Office, 3826 Milton St., with the drive-up approach from the intersection of College Street and University Boulevard. Only residents will be allowed to participate, and they should be prepared to show current I.D. with their West U address.

Acceptable items are:

  • Paper (limited to 5 banker boxes per household)
  • Mattresses
  • E-waste, including computers, laptops, printers, DVD players and game consoles
  • Household metals such as cookware, faucets, metal furniture, sinks and more.

Not accepted:

  • Hazardous household waste such as chemicals, paint, and batteries.
