Ten crimes were reported in Bellaire according to the latest Bellaire Police Department Weekly Crime Report. The crimes are from June 30 to July 3.
The crimes reported are as follows:
On June 30, an officer was dispatched to the 5200 block of Bellaire regarding a welfare check. A third party had call the Bellaire Police Department and state that there was a black female being followed by a black male. The caller stated the female was bleeding from her face and looked as if trying to get away from the male. The caller stated the subjects were going towards the Bellaire Transit Center. The officer arrived at the transit center and located the two subjects. After investigating, it was discovered that the male was in possession of marijuana. He was subsequently arrested.
The same day, officers were flagged down near the 5100 block of Bellaire in regards to an individual stealing food. Officers found the individual accused of stealing in the back of the store attempting to change clothes. Officers subsequently found the stolen property in the suspect’s property.
On June 30, a white Buick parked next to a detective’s unmarked vehicle. The suspects inside the car observed the detective and fled from the scene at a high rate of speed and nearly striking another vehicle when they failed to yield exiting a private drive. The white Buick was displaying fictitious Texas license plate. A different officer was able to locate the Buick and conducted a traffic stop. While conducting the traffic stop, the officer smelled an overpowering odor of marijuana from inside. The officer also found the suspects to be in possession of Burglary tool such as multiple window punches, gloves, hoodies and dark clothing. The suspects were arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity.
On July 1, a Bellaire sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a suspected vehicle that had expired motor vehicle registration. The driver identified himself with his Texas driver license. Upon running a computer query, the sergeant discovered that the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was unable to provide any type of proof of financial responsibility for his vehicle.
The same day, an officer was dispatched to the 4900 block of Holt Street regarding a burglary of a habitation. The officer met with the victim who stated he was out of town from June 26 through July 1. When the victim arrived home, he observed that the residence had been ransacked. The unknown suspects entered the residence through the master bedroom window.
Late on July 1, an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Whipple Drive regarding a death investigation. The reportee indicated the victim was unresponsive and had suffered a gunshot wound. Officers arrived at the scene and secured the scene for investigation.
On July 2, an officer patrolling the 4500 block of Bellaire Boulevard eastbound when he observed a green Ford Explorer traveling in front of him with a defective right brake lamp. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 4300 block of Bellaire Boulevard and make contact with the driver. The officer discovered that the driver did not have a driver’s license. The driver was also found to have two active warrants out of Houston PD for his arrest. The drive was arrested and placed in Bellaire jail.
The next day, an officer observed a vehicle with defective equipment (left brake light out) and unconfirmed insurance per computer query. The officer initiated a traffic stop based on the information at hand. The driver’s license was found to be suspended. The driver was subsequently arrested.
On July 3, an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Pamellia regarding a burglarized vehicle. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) broke out the front passenger window and took several items.
Later in the day, an officer contacted a complainant at the Bellaire PD lobby who reported that her son was missing from the residence. The officer determined an investigation concluded that it was a missing person. The person has since been found.
