Houston ISD will extend its weather shutdown Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 21-22), with students returning to asynchronous online learning Wednesday through Friday and hybrid instruction — in-person and online classes — resuming Monday, March 1.
According to an announcement from the district, students will transition to asynchronous virtual learning Wednesday through Friday, accessing work and lessons provided by their teachers through the HISD HUB or other platforms utilized at individual campuses. While teachers won’t be required to report to campuses until Thursday, they are expected to be available to students remotely starting Wednesday.
Each campus will inform families about specific instructions. West University ES teachers will contact families by phone Tuesday and email assignments Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, pupils will have virtual live lessons on Microsoft Teams.
Suspended all week due to the winter weather emergency, HISD is resuming food distributions to families starting Saturday.
